Latin America and the Caribbean share Africa's problem in different clothes: rural schools cooking on firewood, island communities paying for imported LPG and diesel, and indigenous communities far from any grid. The solar kitchen packages built for Africa travel well.
Key facts
- Four kitchen sizes, from a mobile trailer (120 meals) to a 1,000-meal kitchen, all running electric pressure cookers and induction hobs on daytime sun.
- Packages ship by container from our manufacturing partners and are commissioned with local installation partners.
- Proposals, training guides and reporting in Spanish, Portuguese, French and English.
- Suited to school-feeding programmes, indigenous and Afro-descendant communities, island municipalities and company community-investment programmes.
Where it fits
- Rural and indigenous schools in the Andes, the Amazon basin and Central America that cook on firewood.
- Caribbean islands where every meal is priced in imported LPG or diesel and hurricanes cut supply.
- Mining, energy and agribusiness host communities from Guyana to Chile.
- Mobile and nomadic communities, and disaster response after storms and floods.
What changes from Africa
Freight routes and import duties differ, so prices are confirmed per country; hurricane-rated mounting is specified for the Caribbean; altitude is taken into account for Andean sites. Everything else — the kitchen package, the training, the monitoring — is the same.

Do you have installations in Latin America yet?
Our first deployments are in Africa. Latin America and the Caribbean are our next markets, and we are open to pilot programmes with schools, NGOs and companies now.
Can the mobile kitchen serve island communities?
Yes — it can be shipped between islands on a ferry and serves as a hurricane-response kitchen.
