How we work together

Three ways to partner with Frontières Bay.

Most popular

1. Customer introductions

You introduce a qualified customer. We audit, design, finance and contract. You earn 20% of the project's profit, paid out as we collect the customer's payments. A short written referral agreement sets it out.

Installers & EPCs

2. Installation partner

You install and maintain FBE systems in your city or state, to our specifications and commissioning checklist. Steady project work as our Phase 1 sites roll out.

Solar companies

3. Joint selling

Your solar customers also need cold storage? We bring the cold chain and the financing; you keep the relationship. One proposal, two capabilities.

Also welcome: distributors for FBE portable products, and equipment or service suppliers.

Which projects qualify

Focus on the right companies and you'll close faster.

Every system is sized to the customer's real energy use — we never make a project bigger than it needs to be. These profiles simply tell you where our service contract fits.

1. Companies earning US dollars — our priority

Exporters of fish and seafood, fresh produce, flowers, cashew, sesame, shea or cocoa; pharmaceutical companies; hotels and businesses billing in dollars. Dollar revenue matches our dollar-based service contract, so standard terms apply from a single site.

  • Any size of site from ~30 kW upward
  • Cold load or heavy motor load most of the day
  • 3+ years trading with bank statements
  • Roof or land for the solar array

2. Large companies earning naira or other local currency

We serve these too, for projects of at least US$1M in equipment — about two standard sites, or roughly US$21,000 a month in fees. The floor exists because currency protections (dollar-linked fee, tier-1 bank guarantee, credit and political-risk insurance, 40% upfront) cost about the same on any deal, so they only make sense at this size.

A naira company qualifies with any two of:

  • 1,000+ litres of diesel a day
  • 500 kVA+ of generators running most of the day
  • US$26,000+ a month on diesel and grid
  • US$5M+ annual revenue
  • 2+ sites that could share one contract

Typical fits

Frozen food distributors with 2–3 cold stores · poultry and meat processors · flour, feed and rice mills · dairy and beverage plants · large hotels · hospital groups · fish, produce and flower exporters · pharma distributors.

Smaller companies

Can still work with us through a cash purchase (designed and commissioned by FBE), by combining sites under one contract, or by paying in dollars through a parent company. Shops and traders: our portable products.

Rule of thumb

A generator burns about 0.28 litres of diesel per kWh. If a site burns 1,000 litres a day it is using roughly 3,500 kWh a day — a 250 kW+ solar site.

What to send us

Seven facts per company and we qualify it within days.

  1. Company name, sector and location
  2. Whether they earn dollars, naira or both
  3. Diesel use (litres a day) and generator size (kVA)
  4. Hours of grid supply a day
  5. Approximate monthly energy bill
  6. Number of sites
  7. Revenue range, if known

With that, we qualify each company and join you for the site visit.

What happens after you apply

  • Day 1 — we reply with a short partner agreement and this checklist
  • Week 1 — you send 3–5 companies; we qualify them
  • Weeks 2–4 — joint site visits and free energy audits
  • Contract — customer signs; your 20% share is confirmed in writing
  • Collection — your share is paid as each customer payment lands
Why partners work with us

We bring the financing, the cold chain and the engineering. You bring the door.

No capex for the customer

Easier close: the customer signs a service contract, not a purchase order.

Integrated offer

Solar + battery + cold storage in one proposal — most competitors sell one or the other.

Backed and bankable

Canadian company funded by development finance institutions, working within Canada's export ecosystem.

Live reference sites

Mauritania, Nigeria and Sierra Leone — real installations you can point customers to.

FAQ

Partner questions.

How is the 20% referral share calculated?

20% of the profit on the project you introduced, paid out as we collect the customer's payments. The exact definition of profit and the payment schedule are set out in a short written referral agreement before any site visit.

When do I get paid?

As we collect. Each time the customer pays a monthly fee (or a purchase instalment), your share of that period's profit is paid in the same month.

Do I need to be a solar company?

No. Installers, consultants, distributors, banks, trade associations, cooperatives, exporters and individual introducers are all welcome. What matters is that you know businesses that fit the profiles above.

Which countries?

Nigeria first (Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Kwara, Abuja and the northern agricultural states), then Ghana, Kenya, Mauritania and Sierra Leone. We take partner applications from anywhere in Africa, South America and the Caribbean.
